hey baby.

          Hey baby

          these bones in boots

          wait among spatters of

          moon-flowers evergreens

          snow static we thought

          something was promised

          you said: “See!”

          eyes wide open my baby

          can’t believe. my eye

          sockets, no wind.

          in thousands we stood

          baldheaded in snow

          in formation, alone,

          I hold you baby they

          birthed you for this.

          leaves falling yellow

          bardo snow-flowers

          rising green screams

          and we stand waiting –

my baby and me.

SOMETHING FOR NOTHING
